I founded Humanimalia: a journal of human/animal interface studies, a peer-reviewed, open access journal, in 2007 with Sherryl Vint, and with committed moral support by Donna Haraway. After Sherryl left to head the Science Fiction and Technoculture Studies Program at the University of California – Riverside, I became the journal's managing editor until my retirement in 2020. Humanimalia is currently managed by Kári Driscoll at the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands. The journal is accessible at https://humanimalia.org/.
